Course Overview

This unit equips learners with knowledge and skills in performing scaffold erection and dismantling work activities in construction and other industries.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of course, the learners should be able to:

·         Understand and comply with rules and regulations to ensure safety in erecting scaffold system

·         Identify, select, setup and perform pre-checking of scaffold system in accordance safe work practices, general principles, and requirements of CP 14, WSH (Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations.

          ® Frame scaffold

          ® Tubular independent tied scaffold

          ® Tower scaffold

          ® Modular scaffold

·         Perform housekeeping and maintain record keeping

 

Target Participants

The course is designed for workers who are involved in performing metal scaffold erection and dismantling work activities in construction and related industry.

 

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Learners are assumed to:

·         have Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above

·         be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numberacy level 3 and above

 

Learning Methodologies

Theory and practical lesson, group learning activity, written and practical assessment

Certification

Upon completion of the course and passing the written and practical assessment, a pass and Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued to the participant.
