Course Overview

Apply Workplace Safety and Health Practices is one of the core units in the sector core of Process Industry. It specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to apply workplace safety and health practices at the workplaces.

 

Learning Objectives

On completion of this unit, learner will have the skills and knowledge in applying workplace safety and health practices in their work area, which include:

 

·      Identify responsibilities under WSH Act

·      Identify hazards at workplace

·      Comply with safe work practices

 

Target Participants

The course is designed for workers, foreman, supervisors, technicians, engineers, or managers.

 

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

 

·      have received safety training related to a process plant

·      have basic knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE)

·      know how to use basic PPE provided at workplace

·      

be able to follow written and oral work instructions

·      be able to listed, read, speak, and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2

·      be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) 2

Theory lesson, learning activities, and written assessment

Certification
