Course Overview

Apply Workplace Safety & Health in Process Plant is one of the core units in all process sectors of Process Industry.

 

The pass is compulsory for personnel who intend to enter or work in the petrochemical process plants.

 

Learning Objectives

On completion of this program, learners will have the skills and knowledge in applying workplace safety and health practices in process plant, which include:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities under WSH Act
  • Identify and prevent fire and explosion hazards at workplace
  • Comply with safe work practices for:

    • mechanical and electrical works
    • working on specialised operations
    • working at heights
    • working in a confined space

Target Participants

The course is designed for workers, foreman, supervisors, technicians, engineers, or managers from the Process Industry

 

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Learners are assumed to:

  • be able to follow written and oral work instructions
  • be able to listed, read, speak, and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2
  • be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System (ESS) level 2

Learning Methodologies

Theory lesson, practical hands-on exercises, written and practical assessment

Course Duration (Including of Assessment)

1 day (9 hours)

 

Certification

Upon completion of the course and passing the written and practical assessment, a pass and Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued to the participant. The validity of the pass is 3 years.
