Course Overview

This unit equips learners with knowledge and skills in performing work at height in construction and other industries.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course, learners should be able to perform:

·         Checks before and after use of the work at height (WAH) equipment

·         Proper use of WAH equipment in accordance to relevant legislation and guidelines, including evaluating use of fall arrest and fall prevention system

·         Self-relief techniques during harness suspension trauma situations

 

Target Participants

The "Perform Work At Height" is a mandatory training course for all workers performing WAH in construction and other industry sectors.

 

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Learners are assumed to:

·         have Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 3 and above

·         be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 3 and above

Learning Methodologies

Theory and practical lesson, written and practical assessment

Course Duration (Including of Assessment)

1 day (7.5 hours)

 

 

Certification

Upon completion of the course and passing the written and practical assessment, a pass and Statement of Attainment will be issued to the participant.
